May GDP Data

May gross domestic product data was released by Statistics Canada today. It shows a total growth of 0.2% over April, led by manufacturing, which posted a gain of 1.2% for the month. Construction activity also grew by 0.9% month-over-month, although this was driven primarily by residential (up 2.2% over April); non-residential construction fell slightly by 0.1% StatsCan's analysis is here.
