April GDP Data

Statistics Canada today released data for monthly gross domestic product by industry. Overall, GDP grew by 0.3% in comparison with March. The construction sector also showed gains; the increase for all construction was 0.2% in April, while non-residential construction increased 0.7% month-over-month. This is the fifth consecutive month of increases for non-residential construction, and all subsectors (industrial, commercial and institutional) were up. You can read the analysis here.
